Lilac time at the Arnold Arboretum!

I had a chance to drive on the grounds yesterday and was amazed to see that the lilacs where already out in some force. If you wait until Lilac Sunday to come and see them, you might miss the best of them. I figure next weekend will probably be the peak if the weather stays mild and sunny.

My florist had lavender-colored lilacs on the branch last night, and they made a redolent addition to our bouquet. Most were just on the edge of blooming. Yummy!

I was amazed to see such a display already and when I mentioned it to my colleagues when I got back they couldn't believe it. Its been so warm and sunny that I suppose I should be surprised.
