Picture perfect tank
Dec. 5th, 2005 10:35 pmThe aquarium is looking so nice tonight. Yesterday I vacuumed the tank and changed the carbon so it was a bit cloudy but after a day of filtering it is brilliatly clear and shiny. I think the choice of gravel makes a difference. I had initially bought some that was fine and pale tan and put it in thinking I would have enough. I readily became apparent that it didn't begin the quantity I would need to have a planted tank, so back to the pet store (or rather to another pet store nearer home) I went to buy more. The Pet Supplies Plus didn't have as fine a gravel as I had found at Tropic Isle but some attracted me that had a pleasant iridescense that really appealed. They also had bags of fine stones that would accent the other gravels well. All three have proved to be good choices. The fine stuff has made a perfect substrate for the plants and the other gravels show off the plants and fish well. In fact, I is was so struck by the way the fish seemed to just glow illuminated by the new light against the gravel. What a pleasant sight to come home to.
