Museum Family Program: Curious About Cuneiform, Saturday, March 19, noon–1:30 pm or 2:30-4 p.m.

Cuneiform is one of the earliest known forms of written expression, beginning as pictographs and evolving into characters. This fun, family program at the Peabody Museum teaches kids about cuneiform, writing on a clay tablet and writing and reading this ancient script. Participants will take a “field trip” to the Harvard Semitic Museum to see real archaeological examples, and then return to the Peabody to try using a stylus on clay and make a take-home craft! For ages 8 and up accompanied by an adult. $5 materials fee per child with Peabody Museum admission. Advance reservations required. Contact pmae-ed@fas.harvard.edu or 617-495-3216 to register.
