They have a large collection of cylinder recordings which they are digitizing and posting online. They are downloadable in Mp3 format as well as in 24bit wav format.
I have always been interested in early recorded sound. I think its fascinating to hear the way people pronounced the English language 100 years ago. It is definitely different and it points up the changes which have occurred in only a century.
