I drove over to MIT after work and picked up J. The word had come from Schoenhof's that the Temps Clair comme Cristal book had arrived and someone was chomping at the bit to go over and pick it up. From there it was over to the emporia in Assembly Square. J. had seem some patio chairs at the Home Despot for $10 the other day but couldn't get them home in the Hugemobile (which is only huge to park, not to put things into). I wanted to check out some items there too. I needed carbide drill bits for armor stuff and wanted to scope out makings for a little cart of Pennsic. I ended up buying some of the cart makings (pipe for the axle, wood for the wheels, etc.) as well as the purpose of our trip, for the chairs. When we came out I said we should get some supper before we progressed on to the grocery store part of the program. There was a 99 nearby and we both got very good steak tips (very tender and cooked just right) and topped it off with quite nice strawberry shortcakes. We rolled out of there and over to the new Shaws near Lechmere, to which I had not yet been. Its a nice new store but it was lacking in a certain something. I felt like it was packed with lots of stuff but yet it didn't have a very good selection. The meat counter was not any larger than in my local Stop and Shop and the items not as well priced. I ended up finding some sausages, chicken breast and steak tips that would all do well on the grill at some point this weekend. Finally it was back to MIT for the Hugemobile and then home with ravenous cats pawing at the door.
And so to bed.
